WHERE CAN THE UNIT BE INSTALLED?
The unit can easily be installed indoors (inside a sluice-room) or outdoors (under a rain cover).

DOES THE UNIT USE A LOT OF WATER?
When you keep in mind that each patient on nappies will not flush the toilet. The water usage for the shredder averages at 10 liters per nappy, compared to 10-15 liters per toilet flush.
HOW DOES THE UNIT OPERATE?
The unit is designed with a preset cycle time of 3 minutes.
When the lid closes, the cycle starts. Water is sprayed into the hopper. After 30 seconds the motor turns the drive shaft in reverse for a moment to prevent clogging at start up. The motor then turns the drive shaft forward and the nappy is pulled between the cutting blades. A sieve at the bottom of the cutting shaft prevents larger shreds to enter the sewerage tank. Bigger shreds are pulled back up and between the cutting blades, ensuring a finely shredded nappy for disposal into the sewerage system.
HOW MANY NAPPIES CAN BE SHREDDED PER CYCLE?
Depending on the nappy size, 2-3 nappies can easily fit into the hopper. However with the lid design the unit can easily be stopped during a cycle. In the event that nappies are shredded one at a time, the operator does not have to wait the entire 3 minute cycle, but can open the lid at any point.
IS IT SAFE TO OPEN THE LID DURING A CYCLE?
The safety switch built onto the lid allows the unit to switch off immediately. The motor switches off and the drive shaft stops turning, thus ensuring a safe to use unit.
